Teachers run the London Marathon
On 23 April, after weeks of training, Mr Bulman and Mr Tyley ran the London Marathon in support of the Motor Neurone Disease Association and the St Albans and District Foodbank. Both of them started well reaching the half way point in 1 hr 36mins with only 14 seconds separating them. Alas for Mr Bulman, his hamstrings had other ideas after 19 miles so he had to dig very deep to keep moving. It is why the Marathon is one of the most brutal of events. He battled on through to finish in 3:29 and declared quite definitively that’s the last one ever! Mr Tyley fortunately fared better with the body just holding itself together to finish in 3:13, a feat he will now try to repeat in five weeks time in the Edinburgh marathon! Thanks to all kind donations, they have already donated a marvellous £1,628 to their chosen charities. Well done and congratulations on this amazing achievement!
