Cricket
The extremely wet weather has played havoc with most of the block fixtures unfortunately this cricket season. However, there have been a few highlights in the games we have played. The U14s progressed in the County Cup after a close win against Haberdasher’s Boys' School where Michael batted beautifully on a very ‘sticky’ pitch and after he and Jake got us to a solid total, the bowlers played their part excellently and defended the total well. Rushil and Krish were the pick of the bowlers, Krish picking up four wickets. Another big win for our players was against the same school. This time for the 1st XI in the National T20. Our celebrations were short lived however, when we were thoroughly beaten by a strong Haileybury side. James bowled well at both ends of the innings and also helped us to a competitive total with his batting.
It's wonderful that for the first time in my ten years we are putting out a D team at U14 level such is the enthusiasm for cricket in that year group. The Lower School are really keen cricketers who have been turning up to training twice a week regularly, as well as their Games session on a Friday.
