The Spring Concert and Cello Group

Spring Concert

At this year’s Spring Concert a range of ensembles including Concert Band, String Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, Clarinet Ensemble and two different brass groups performed a wide ranging repertoire, from Bach’s Third Brandenburg Concerto to a Beatles medley. Especially memorable was Charlotte’s concerto-like performance of a new piece for amplified harp, strings and percussion, Toss The Feathers, written by her harp teacher Chris Marshall. The inevitable May the 4th performance of a surprise Star Wars medley went down well with the audience too.

Lunch Time Concert Cello Group

On Friday 12 May, there was an enjoyable lunchtime concert in the Smith Space performed by six of our cello players who played both ensemble and solo pieces from well-known composers such as Ludovico Einaudi. Well done to all who contributed.
