Pen Arthur Adventures

We’re excited to be back at Pen Arthur! Form 1.1 enjoyed their week starting with a walk in the beautiful Welsh sunshine. After a short lesson on how to make a bed, they quickly found the cricket bat and frisbees. Later, the group enjoyed a mindful sunset over the rolling hills of the Brecon Beacons, Bannau Brycheiniog.

The next day they went caving, looked for insects and explored nature by the river. On Tuesday, it was time for canoeing and kayaking on the River Wye. The group managed to mostly stay in their vessels and had a lovely picnic on the river bank. On Wednesday, pupils enjoyed the beautiful weather from Carreg Cennen Castle.

On their final full day, the boys enjoyed a beach day including a sand castle competition, and then later it was time for Pen Arthur's Got Talent. The boys were sad to say goodbye to Pen Arthur but they have some lovely memories to treasure. We look forward to hearing more stories from 1.2 and 1.3's visits to Pen Arthur soon.

Pen Arthur was amazing. Easily the best residential trip I have ever been on but not just for the activities (and the activities were amazing) but for how it helped me bond with my classmates. Seeing my friends in a non-classroom environment was refreshing and it helped me know them better. I learnt about their habits and behaviour outside the classroom which helped me build bonds with people I never really knew before through the collaborative activities at the camp. I also thank Pen Arthur for making me see my teachers in a different light and having fun with them.

My favourite moment at Pen Arthur was caving on the Monday. We tackled many challenges, with my favourite being, "the toilet”, where we had to crawl through a small hole which was gushing with water up to chest height!

My favourite moment of Pen Arthur was when on the day we arrived we had five minutes of mindfulness on a hill. I really enjoyed it as I felt really calm and it helped me to let it sink in that I was in Pen Arthur. Also, the sun was beautiful.
