A LEVEL BIOLOGY TRIP TO CAMBRIDGE
18 A Level Biology pupils had the pleasure of visiting the picturesque city of Cambridge on Sunday 1 October. The trip started in the University’s Botanic Gardens, where pupils experienced plains of vibrant flowers and trees. Whilst learning about the anatomy of each organism from descriptive labels, they completed collages showcasing the diverse colours and biodiversity of the botanical world.
Next was the University's Museum of Zoology, observing the vast range of animals from extinct mammalians to a collection of hundreds of thousands of insects. Tasked to use clues of biological classification and the museum information, there was a race to discover the animal of the day which, after much deliberation, turned out to be an earthworm. However, the highlight was seeing the original finches and their beaks that Darwin used to craft the theory of evolution. The trip finished with a brief tour around the historic city.Emmanuel - Lower Sixth Form
