Lower School pupils welcomed award-winning author Ele Fountain to the Library on Wednesday 14 November. She discussed her the inspiration behind her books, the publishing process, and what it’s like to be a writer. Her debut novel Boy 87 examines the refugee crisis from the perspective of a young boy, and Fountain invited pupils to consider how media narratives of refugees do not always match the reality of what many people, including children, experience. After some insightful questions from the First and Second Form there was a book signing in the Junior Library. Thank you to Ele Fountain for a thought provoking and very enjoyable visit.
