ENGINEERING TRIP TO IMPERIAL COLLEGE

Lower and Upper Sixth Form Physics pupils visited Imperial College to learn more about studying engineering at university. They enjoyed presentations by second-year Mechanical Engineering students and also heard from Professor David Nowell (OA 1978), a lecturer at the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He provided insight on what it's like to work in engineering, and university interview tips.

After a brief tour around Imperial College London, we observed a series of engaging talks giving us deeper insight into the world of becoming an engineer; we could also ask questions after each student-led talk.

From the students presentations, I could tell that they were all very interested in their research topics and enthusiastic in sharing what they studied. The presentations helped us engage and understand their topic areas. It was interesting to find out about what life at university is like, and have insight into what assignments might look like at uni as well as what skills may be required.
