Over 100 pupils were involved in last week's Autumn Concert. Everyone performed admirably, but special mention should be given to Peter May for his outstanding playing of the First Movement of Grieg’s Piano Concerto No.1 with the orchestra, who were in fine form; the exceptional String Sextet for their performance of Bach’s Brandenberg Concerto No.6 (Arun Subramaniyam, Harry Rughoo, Travis Choy, Aidan Cham, Alex Cham and Jenny Jain); John-Ellis Wallace for both his singing and arranging of three movements from Handel’s Oratorios; Charlotte and Thomas De Stasio’s exciting leading of the String Orchestra in Piazzola’s Libertango; and Teni Taiwo and Harry Anastasiou for their superb parts in the festive finale This Christmas by Donny Hathaway.
