Swimming
Last week the swimming season concluded with the county league final. It was fantastic to have all four of our teams qualify for the final (including, for the third year running, our senior girls’ team) and get the chance to compete against the best teams in the county.
We were up against strong competition from Bishop’s Stortford, Aylesbury Grammar and Haileybury but our swimmers rose to the challenge and produced their best performance of the season. All of the teams did themselves proud with strong individual performances from Rosie (U6), Alexander (U6), Kabir (Fourth Form) and Edward (Second Form) and great placings in the team relays. We eagerly await the results.
It was fantastic to have all four of our swim teams qualify for the final!
Lacrosse
St Albans School played Abbot’s Hill for the second time this term; in the first, Abbot's Hill took a convincing win. The team were exceptional from the first draw to the final whistle, both individually and collectively, executing what has been practised at training to good effect. It was wonderful to see the growth of the team, going on to win the game 9-6.
In mid-March the team narrowly missed out on a place in the Final after a tightly contested Semi Final against Rendcomb College saw their 1st team go up 5-4 in the closing seconds. 3rd place overall, seeing a culmination of weeks of hard work, commitment and dedication.
Hockey
In the final weeks of term the 1st XI has recorded wins over Kimbolton School (3-0), Forest School (5-2) and Watford Grammar School for Boys (2-1) to conclude a successful season for this talented team captained by Elliott.
The 2nds also enjoyed a very positive season, ending with a great game against Watford Grammar School for Boys. Final score 3-2.
