FRENCH X ART CROSSOVER LESSON
Madame Cécile Coudert and Ms Eva Lerche-Lerchenborg collaborated to create a cross-curricular two-part lesson experience for our Second Form, mixing the disciplines of French and Art.
In the first activity, pupils researched one of four different French artists: Cézanne, Matisse, Robert Doisneau (a candid life photographer) and Van Gogh who, though Dutch, spent much of his life painting in France. This research was then presented to the class in French, to the best of their ability!
In the second lesson, our Second Formers rotated round a carousel of activities, each with a different artistic technique based on each artist. Each group tried their hand at photography, ink work, watercolour painting and coloured card assemblage.
I really enjoyed the cross-curricular lessons. They were certainly one of the highlights of my French academic year.
The cross-curricular lessons were a blast, they were so much fun and I found something that I am good at doing.
I found that it was rather spiffing because of the active learning displayed in class which made the lesson so much more engaging and entertaining.
This was my favourite part of learning French because it showed how different subjects overlapped in different and interesting ways.
