SWINGTIME: A NIGHT OF JAZZ AT CADOGAN HALL
I was very lucky to be able to attend a concert at Cadogan Hall by the Jazz Repertory Company. We were even luckier that the concert was actually two concerts back-to-back! Led by the effortlessly brilliant Richard Pite on the drums, all the musicians blended together seamlessly. Dazzling solos from almost every member of the ensemble introduced us to each instrument as they are meant to be played, giving us a new outlook into the world of jazz that I, for one, had not previously experienced.

Furthermore, the improvisation on show was inspiring and mesmerising, from fast, staccato notes to mellow tones; the concert had absolutely everything aspiring musicians could want to learn about jazz. The constant laid-back, relaxed attitude of the performers and jokes dropped in frequently also gave us a good lesson in performing, which I hope we can implement into our own performances. Thank you to Mr Fraczek and Mrs Gudgin for giving me this opportunity, and I look forward to attending more concerts with School next year.
