ENRICHMENT WEEK
Five days of activities and trips for all year groups
The Second Form visited Bhaktivedanta Manor and learned about the Hare Krishna Movement and the teachings of the Vedas, and ancient text which forms the foundation of Hinduism.
The First Form had an early careers insight into the world of Marketing. They split into groups, came up with a project idea, discussed its design and then pitched it to their peers.
The Second Form travelled to Hampton Court Palace where they explored the state rooms of Henry VIII, William III, and the Georgians, before participating in a workshop on the Elizabethan world.
The First and Third Forms enjoyed exploring the National Space Centre in Leicester which has history and exhibits from the British, Russian and American space programmes since the 1950s. They were also impressed to find a genuine piece of Moon rock and launch simulator capsule!
The Lower Sixth Form athletes learnt about the impact of altitude on performance by engaging in their own altitude training tests.
Lower Sixth Form pupils visited the Royal Courts of Justice and the Law Offices at Inner Temple, hosted by His Honour Judge Phil Waller. They watched appeal cases and listened to a careers talk which really helped demystify the law profession.
The Second Form expressed what made them angry and happy in a course on emotional regulation and the power of words; learned about their argument style, and also built their teamwork skills with some physical puzzle games outside.
The Fourth Form visited The Edge Outdoor Activity Centre in Ware and enjoyed a day of intense laser tag!
Pupils spent the morning designing puzzle worksheets for care home residents using the online design platform Canva.
Lower Sixth Form pupils learned about the history of the Globe Theatre through a tour and contextual lecture, and then tapped into their own performance skills in an acting workshop.
To round off Enrichment Week, and the academic year, the whole School participated in our annual Sports Day at Westminster Lodge. Each of the four houses (Hampson, Hawking, Marsh and Renfrew) competed against one another in a variety of athletics activities, from hurdles and 800m to long jump, triple jump, discus and pole vault!
