ART AND D&T SUMMER EXHIBITION
Our annual Art and D&T Summer Exhibition is an opportunity for our Art and D&T GCSE and A Level pupils, and artistically-inclined staff, to display what they've been working on this year. It is always an incredible showcase of hard work and creativity.
In the D&T section, pupils used sketching, computer-aided design (CAD), modelling, and testing to bring their ideas to life.
GCSE pupils have worked on producing a prototype based around the context of securing or storing personal possessions or playing games. One pupil was inspired by a trip to Japan and created a wooden sword stand and another developed a compact magnetic pool cue to aid portability. At A Level, pupils find their own context and client, finding a problem to solve, where one pupil worked with a local primary school to create a classroom desk to support pupils with special education needs.
In the Art section, exemplary work was on show from this years A Level and GCSE Fine Art cohort. Final pieces were exhibited alongside preparatory work, and in one room the tables were full of sketchbooks displaying a plethora of amazing work, with pupils studying a range of traditional and contemporary artists.
There were also various multi-media works from acrylic, oil paint combined with stitching.
