The St Albans School Lacrosse team has had a great start to the season as a newly formed team, showcasing both growth and teamwork in their recent matches. On 1 February, the team took to the field for a fantastic morning of lacrosse against Berkhamsted School. The event was a true celebration of the girls' dedication, with many players just picking up the sport. Despite this, they demonstrated remarkable commitment and skill, a testament to their hard work. Ms Sandell is immensely proud of how they applied themselves and discovered their potential, especially at such a senior level of competition.
The Abbot's Hill School cohort of Evie, Grace and Emilia, who have played together since they were little, demonstrated superb chemistry on the field. Emilia and Grace are also joint captains, and their leadership has been key to the team’s success.
Building on that momentum, the girls delivered another outstanding performance the following week against Heathfield School. Goals highlighted their offensive strength, while Evie’s defensive leadership was exceptional. However, it was our newcomer goalkeeper Ellie who stole the show, earning the MVP title with her impressive display. Her performance, rooted in the values of teamwork, positivity, and composure, demonstrated not just a clear talent for the game, but also her ability to rise to the occasion.
This team continues to embody the qualities of resilience and development, making us incredibly proud of their efforts on and off the field. As the season progresses, we eagerly anticipate even greater performances from this group of players!
