Last week we hosted a successful Music Workshop Day and welcomed 35 musically talented pupils from local primary and prep schools. They all enjoyed rehearsing and performing together before playing in a live concert for parents, arranged and staged in just one day!
Schools included Maple Primary, Oakwood Primary, Redbourn Primary, St Albans City School and Aldwickbury School. Pupils were placed into three groups: strings, woodwind and brass, and percussion, before being coached by our own music teachers, pupil scholars and visiting music teachers.
Pupils played various instruments from the cello, violin and viola to the flute, trombone, trumpet, clarinet, drums, French horn, piano and electric guitar.
They also enjoyed a fun junk percussion session making music using discarded household items!
Following a full orchestra rehearsal, the event concluded with a wonderful performance to parents. The concert included an array of pieces performed by the talented String Orchestra, Concert Band and the Full Orchestra.
