Conquering the French Spelling Bee challenge

Last week, our talented First Formers raced against the clock to translate and spell as many words in French as they could in just one minute! 17 competitors brought their A-game, while a big crowd of enthusiastic supporters cheered them on. Well done to our champions of the day: Ted, Aydin, Ishaan, and Avyan.

I chose to participate in the French Spelling Bee as I have a passion for learning languages, and therefore I was able to learn new words I never knew before. My favourite thing about learning French is probably the spelling of the words and the French alphabet; it is completely different! I would say that the most challenging part was that you needed to spell as many words as you can in one minute, while also being able to pronounce them correctly, accents and all!
