In February half term, a group of 25 enthusiastic Third and Fourth Form pupils embarked on an unforgettable trip to France. Staying with welcoming host families, the boys had the incredible opportunity to immerse themselves in both the French language and culture. Each morning, they attended three hours of French lessons, which helped them improve their speaking and comprehension skills. Many students shared how much the lessons had boosted their confidence, allowing them to engage in conversations with their host families in the evenings.
In the afternoons, the boys explored the charm of Normandy. They visited the historic city of Rouen, where they enjoyed a guided tour, taking in the beauty of the famous Rouen Cathedral. They also got a behind-the-scenes look at how traditional sweets are made in a local confiserie and even had the chance to create their own macarons with the guidance of a skilled pâtissier. The sweet treats were a hit among the students, who thoroughly enjoyed the experience! The trip wrapped up with a visit to Honfleur, a picturesque port town, where they all enjoyed the stunning views and quaint atmosphere.
Overall, the trip was a fantastic success, offering a perfect blend of language learning, cultural discovery and hands-on experiences. The boys returned home with fond memories, improved French skills, and a greater appreciation for French culture.
