On Thursday 27 March, two teams of four Fourth Formers took part in the Year 10 Maths Feast event at Queen Elizabeth School in Luton along with 15 other groups from different schools in the area.
Both teams made an excellent start on the Would I Lie to You round, dropping just a single point. They did extremely well in a very challenging Cubes and Ribbons round, with team A placing first and team B second overall before team B caught up on the Broken Calculators round. With both teams equally placed on points, it was all to play for in the time-pressured Calculator Relay. Team B came out on top, scoring full marks and picking up all available bonus points with team A just two points behind.
Consequently team B took the day and were awarded a special certificate for their wins in two of the four rounds. Team A were awarded their own special certificate for placing second or third overall in all rounds.
A good time was had by all, the teams finished first and second overall and the boys were excellent ambassadors for the School. Well done to Team A: Alex, Henry, Tommy and RJ, and to Team B: Alex, Daniel, Thomas and Alex.
