Well done to the Faure Piano Quartet (Felix, Nikolaj, Travis, and Alex) who won the U16 level of the National Chamber Music Festival, run by Pro Corda, the UK’s leading centre for chamber music for school-age pupils.
This is an incredible achievement as the quartet competed against schools from across the country in the highest-level chamber music competition for their age group.
We were delighted with the adjudicator's feedback: “Under 16 St Albans School Boys – and again I want to say Under 16! Wow. I thought this was a masterclass in colour and balance and sound blend. From the minute they started, there was a collective sound that really worked. The love for the piece shone through… we could just sit back and really enjoy it.”
