The U14 cricket squad enjoyed a fantastic tour to Guernsey over half term, combining competitive cricket with great team spirit and fun off the pitch.
The tour opened with a T20 against hosts Elizabeth College. Jayden won the toss and chose to bat first for St Albans School (SAS). Christian (25) and Aran (23) helped SAS post 132-9. Elizabeth College responded with 65-4 by the 13th over, with wickets shared between Jacob, Hrishi, and Aran, and a tidy stumping from Freddie.
In the following declaration match, Freddie captained the side. After losing the toss, SAS fielded first, limiting Elizabeth College to 153-8 declared from 37 overs. Chasing 154 in 33 overs, SAS pulled off a thrilling win. Freddie scored a superb maiden fifty, Zac added 49 before a narrow run-out, and Joseph hit the winning runs with overs to spare. Final scores: Elizabeth College 154-8 (dec), SAS 155-5 (30 overs).
Off the field, the team enjoyed beach cricket at Cobo Bay and a fun round of pirate golf thanks to Nineteen Bar & Grill. Aran impressed with both bat and golf club!
The tour ended with awards:
