During half term, 40 students in the Third and Fourth Forms embarked on a unique opportunity to explore science beyond the classroom, with a week-long educational adventure in Orlando, Florida. Combining academic enrichment with hands-on experiences and cultural exploration, the trip proved both inspiring and unforgettable.
The journey began at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, where students immersed themselves in the physics of theme park engineering, from roller coasters to cinematic simulations. Even heavy Florida rain couldn’t dampen enthusiasm, as the group made the most of every moment.
A visit to the Orlando Science Centre brought learning to life through interactive exhibits, experiments, and puzzles designed to deepen students’ understanding of scientific concepts in an engaging, tactile environment.
In the evening, the group headed to WonderWorks, where dinner was followed by a Magic Comedy Show and a series of immersive activities including a glow-in-the-dark ropes course and a spinning gyroscope, an entertaining way to explore forces, motion, and balance in action.
