The inaugural House Rounders Competition took place on Wednesday 21 May, delivering an afternoon full of spirited play and impressive team spirit. Students from Hampson, Hawking, Marsh, and Renfrew took part with great enthusiasm in a well-organised tournament that saw each house rotate through batting, fielding, and warm-up sessions in the nets. The event followed a timed-innings format, encouraging strategic play and leading to several closely contested matches.
Hawking House emerged as overall winners, scoring a total of six rounders. The standard of play remained consistently high throughout, with a lively and supportive atmosphere. One of the most memorable moments came when spectators spontaneously broke into dance to Rasputin, capturing the joyful spirit that defined the afternoon.
Individual honours went to:
Maria – Most Valuable Fielder, for her exceptional work at deep third and multiple catches.
Piera – Most Valuable Batswoman, for her precise placement and four rounders scored.
Isabelle – Player of the Day, recognised for her leadership, positivity, and strong performance at backstop, as well as her instrumental role in helping organise the competition.
A special thank you goes to Ms Sandell and Miss Hilton for their impartial and professional umpiring throughout the event.
