We are delighted that our very own Head of Art, Mrs Sam Forbes-Whitehead, recently showcased her work at Marks & Tilt Gallery in St Albans. The exhibition, titled Sumer is icumen in, opened with a private viewing on drawing a diverse crowd of art enthusiasts, colleagues, and community members.
The collection, a captivating series of paintings, explored themes of folklore, myth, and the enduring mystery of the forest. Inspired by the seasonal return of life and colour to the countryside, referred to in the title as the Green & Happenstance, Mrs Forbes-Whitehead's work invites viewers into a world where nature and story intertwine. Her distinctive style brought these themes vividly to life.
We are incredibly proud of Mrs Forbes-Whitehead's achievements and grateful for the inspiration she brings to our school community. Her passion for both teaching and creating exemplifies the power of art to connect, provoke thought, and celebrate the world around us.
