BEYOND THE CLASSROOM

Second Former Ethan was invited to be the mascot for the England Cricket Team during their One Day International against South Africa at Lord’s in early September. Thanks to the MCC Foundation, Ethan also had the special opportunity to take part in the toss and spend time with the players. A fantastic experience for such an avid cricketer.

Each year, budding engineers in Fifth Form are invited to apply for an Arkwright Engineering Scholarship. This prestigious award seeks to identify, inspire and nurture future brilliant engineers who are supported by a mentor and a financial award through their Sixth Form. Ishaan (now Lower Sixth Form) has been awarded the award, continuing the School’s record of success.

Cadet RSM Finley (Upper Sixth Form) received his Champion Cadet medal. After a variety of activities, he placed in the top two for the CCF side of the competition alongside another Coldstream Guards cadet. Although he sadly missed out on winning after the interviews, the competition was still very enjoyable.

Netcraft awards prizes to the top-performing AQA Computer Science A-level students. This year, recent leaver Leo de Silva (OA 2025) was put forward for a prize. At the prize-winners event he will meet other award-winners and well-performing Computer Science university students.

Recent leaver George Ball (OA 2025) won silver at the English Schools Championships with a personal best of 2.04m, the highest jump ever recorded by one of our students. He will join Loughborough University’s Athletics Performance Programme.
