As part of our Black History Month programme, we were honoured to welcome Lionel Wallace, former High Sheriff of Hertfordshire, and father of JJ and former Head of School, John-Ellis, to speak to our school community. Dr Wallace shared his remarkable journey, from his career as an aeronautical engineer, to his service as High Sheriff, and his ongoing work in the ministry. His talk was both personal and powerful, offering insights into leadership, resilience, and the value of service. The central theme of his message was the idea that “words are seeds.” He spoke passionately about the importance of choosing our words carefully, to be kind, to encourage others, and to speak with purpose. His reflections reminded us that the words we say can plant ideas, inspire change, and leave a lasting impact on those around us. Thank you to Dr Wallace for an uplifting and thought-provoking session.
