EXPLORING THE ANIMAL KINGDOM
First Form Science and STEM Club had a very special visit from biologist Mr Khan, who brought a captivating selection of reptiles for pupils to observe and learn about firsthand.
The visiting animals included leopard geckos, a milk snake, a corn snake, and the highlight of the session - a panther chameleon. Pupils were fascinated to watch the chameleon shift its colours from striking blue-green tones to deeper reds and oranges, a natural display of mood rather than camouflage, as is commonly believed.
The session offered numerous opportunities for hands-on learning and observation. Throughout the visit, the room was filled with curiosity, questions, and excitement as students engaged directly with these remarkable creatures.
The visit provided an excellent reminder of the diversity and complexity of Earth’s wildlife, reinforcing the importance of studying and protecting biodiversity. The First Form community extends its gratitude to Mr Khan for sharing his expertise and making this a memorable and educational experience.
