School of Rock, this year's main school production, entertained pupils, parents and staff for three consecutive nights this week! It was our first full-scale production since COVID and the Drama and Music Departments went all out.
Overly enthusiastic guitarist Dewey Finn gets thrown out of his bar band and finds himself in desperate need of work. Posing as a substitute music teacher at an elite private elementary school, he exposes his students to the hard rock gods he idolizes and emulates - much to the consternation of the uptight principal. As he gets his privileged and precocious charges in touch with their inner rock 'n' roll animals, he imagines redemption at a local Battle of the Bands.
It was a difficult play in terms of production but the cast and crew managed to create a fantastic performance in a short space of time. Their very high energy, musical talent and fast paced wit made it a fantastic show. Well done to everyone involved!
