The Christmas Markets in Germany
From 16 to 18 December, 60 Lower School pupils travelled to the world-famous Christmas Markets in Cologne, Germany. They experienced the magic of the traditional markets with their wide array of gifts and craft stalls and enjoyed the opportunity to try a range of German foods such as sausage, Lebkuchen and giant chocolate sweets. They also learnt about the history of the city on a walking tour, tried a range of sports such as boxing, long jump and cycling at the Olympics Museum as well as learning about the chocolate-making process from cocoa bean to finished product at the Lindt Chocolate Museum. It was also an excellent opportunity for pupils to practise their German!
