Winter Camp 2022 was a unique day for all those involved, due to the presence of snow on The Woollam Playing Fields. Although participants were unable to spend the night under canvas, the day was enjoyed by all. Cadets threw themselves wholeheartedly into the activities, which included a pairs fire manoeuvre with the airsoft rifles and a lesson in camouflage. The younger cadets also experienced military ration packs for the first time, washed down with a healthy helping of Mr Russ' famous hot chocolate. The day ended with a timed run around the playing fields, where groups had to work together to carry barrels. Despite being out of the ordinary, the camp was a great opportunity for newer cadets to experience life in the field and also learn some new skills. I would like to thank all the teachers involved, as well as the members of the Sixth Form who took the time out of their holiday to run the camp.
