On Wednesday 25 January, the School hosted the first round of the Junior National Teams Championship open to Lower School pupils. We entered teams comprising pupils from each year group and in an exciting finish our First Form team managed to tie for first place. Thenuka and Daniel both won all of their matches. The tie-breaker went against us so the team missed out progressing to the next round but it was an enjoyable experience for all.
This week saw The House Chess competition in full-swing. On Wednesday we watched the deciding round of the House Chess competition, with First and Second Formers playing. After the first three rounds Marsh and Hampson were sharing the top spot, but a strong performance from Hampson took them ahead of Marsh and made them overall winners.
