Lady Rosalind Runcie Memorial Masterclass and Concert

On Wednesday 1 February we celebrated the tenth year of the Runcie Masterclass and Recital, this year kindly hosted by St Albans High School for Girls (STAHS).

We were delighted to welcome professional pianists Berendina Cook and Matthew Stanley. The theme of ‘collaborative pianists’ began with duet and trio workshops involving pupils from STAHS and our School, followed by a wonderful recital. Thank you to all our fantastic performers, music staff and of course to Berendina and Matthew for their wonderful coaching, playing and good humour!

Scholars' Concert

The Senior Scholars' Concert took place on 2 February in the intimate setting of the Library. It was a great opportunity for our Music Scholars to perform for an audience. There was an especially strong performance from Charlotte on the harp playing Dirty Laundry Rag by Park Stickney. Another highlight was brothers Alex and Aiden playing an Einaudi duet arrangement for cello at the end, as well as many other amazing performances. The concert was highly commended for its high standard overall. Well done to all who contributed with some fantastic pieces of music. It was a very enjoyable evening!
