Helping pupils prepare for life after School
Over the past few weeks the Careers and Higher Education Department has been running the lecture series What's it like to work in…? The talks, given by some of our more recently graduated Old Albanians, are organised to help pupils understand the range of roles and career paths, and to give them an opportunity to learn more about what people do for a living on a day-to-day basis.
So far pupils have enjoyed talks from three OA's; Economist, Hugh Myers (OA, 2014) Engineer, James Graham (OA, 2011) and Filmmaker, Kaine Levy (OA, 2014). The speakers shared their journeys to their chosen career fields, an insight into their day-to-day tasks and tips for students who might be interested in following a similar path. At the end there was time for student questions. The talks have been thoroughly enjoyed by our students and have given them a great opportunity to learn more about working in different professions in the future.
