Welcome to the September edition of our regular newsletter! Readers will notice that it has been re-imagined by the Director of Marketing, Admissions and Communications, Mrs Morrison, and her team. The software used to publish it, Turtl©, is the brainchild of a former pupil, Nick Mason (OA 2003), and his business partner, Mark Sallows. We hope you enjoy both the content and presentation: any feedback, to marketing@st-albans.herts.sch.uk, would be appreciated.
The start of an academic year is always an exciting time: some of the enthusiasm and energy of our new arrivals is captured in this newsletter alongside coverage of events and achievements of the early weeks of the new term. Sadly, it has been a momentous period too for our country with the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the proclamation of King Charles III as her successor. For the vast majority of us, for whom Her Late Majesty was, as The New York Times put it, “the One Constant in an Inconstant World,” witnessing the events unfold leading up to Monday’s State Funeral has been a unique and deeply moving experience. Through assemblies held in School we have sought to ensure that the current generation of pupils is aware of the significance of the moment and that they will retain life-long memories of a major historical landmark.
With best wishes for the weekend ahead,
