A highlight for most pupils was the healthy cooking workshop provided by our catering team from Chartwells. Two pupils from each form were chosen to be in two cooking teams and were provided with all the ingredients to create a healthy meal.
With some expert guidance pupils enjoyed cooking some tasty dishes.
Team Red prepared a vegetarian wrap and Team Green created a vegetarian pasta bolognese. During the cooking session, other First Formers were invited up, group by group, to have a look (and smell!) closer up. Within 15 minutes, and with loud cheering, both teams completed their dishes. The cooking challenge was of course followed by an elaborate tasting session by the First Form tasting team. The winner was determined by the loudest applause and with one decibel difference, the victory was for Team Green.
It was a very successful PSHEE day that left pupils feeling more equipped for school life.
