Immersing an audience and developing stories by using space
On Thursday 15 September, Upper Sixth Form Drama students took part in the Creating Storyworlds workshop with Punchdrunk. Creating Storyworlds is designed specifically for A Level students. The workshop encourages pupils to question how they use space, how stories can be developed, and how to make an audience feel immersed within the world of the play. During the workshop pupils delved into Punchdrunk's historic practice and methodology. Applying these techniques enabled students to reimagine the Drama studio in New Place as a performance landscape, and to explore the relationship between text and space when creating their own unique audience centred experiences..
